NEW YORK, NY – A gripping film noir in the tradition of the ‘60s French gangster movie, the underworld characters in PAID have come to regret the choices they’ve made and now secretly long for a more meaningful life. When Luis, a six-year-old Brazilian boy, enters their lives following a violent shooting, the relationship between Paula (stunning French actress Anne Charrier), a 28-year-old Parisian call girl working in Amsterdam and young hit man, Michel Angelo (Brazilian star and heartthrob Murilo Benicio, 2-time winner of the Cinema Brasil Grand Prize for Best Actor), is forever changed. After falling in love amidst the bullets, they decide together to escape the dark underbelly of society. Paula, unfortunately, realizes that she’s beholden to Rudi Dancer, a dangerous drug baron (played by Conti, in a tour de force performance). Michel, too, must contend with Giuseppe (Guy Marchand), his mentor and fellow assassin looking to partner on one more job. And they’re both pawns, caught in the war between Dancer and rival drug lord, William Montague (Bernsen). With their checkered pasts standing in their way of a new life, how high a price will Paula and Michel be willing to pay for a chance to start anew?
PAID is presented in widescreen format with Dolby Stereo 2.0.
