BLUE BLOOD was written and directed by talented brothers Ben and Orson Cummings, and aside from a few scenes in Manhattan, was filmed entirely on location in their own backyard of East Hampton. As year-round residents of the resort-like area, the Cummings played upon the mood created by the long, empty days of the off-season for their film. In it, Davis Meyers (Sage) is a middle-aged man with no direction, though he operates under the pretense that he’s dabbling in real estate. In reality, he’s a kept man – a trophy husband to a high-powered Manhattan attorney (Beck). After failed attempts at producing an heir, Davis’ boredom leads to an affair with femme fatale Hadley Templeton (Misner) and a murder plot, and a cat and mouse game ensues with the arrival of private investigator Linus (Scheider) on the scene. The result is “a crisply written film noir” (Newsday) that’s “filled with fresh surprises” (New York Observer).
