The Kingdom Hospital has seen its share of strange, inexplicable occurrences in the past, but nothing has prepared its doctors, nurses and wards for what is now in store. Resuming after the birth of “Little Brother,” the deformed offspring of demon-doctor Aage Krüger (Udo Kier), SERIES 2 includes the final four, spine-tingling episodes of von Trier’s fantastic and surreal tour de force: Mors in Tabula, Birds of Passage, Gargantua and Pandaemonium.
Consultant neurosurgeon Stig Helmer (Ernst-Hugo Järegård) has returned from Haiti. He not only faces prosecution for his unsuccessful operation on brain-damaged Mona (Laura Christensen), but also has to fend off his colleague Rigmor (Ghita Nørby), who is trying her best to entice him into marriage. “Little Brother” is now growing at an amazing pace and simultaneously fighting for his life. The health of Professor Bondo (Baard Owe) is also failing from the cancerous tumor implanted nto his body, and considering all the intrigues and conflicts at The Kingdom, it is no wonder Professor Moesgaard (Holger Juul Hansen) feels compelled to seek psychiatric help!
