Port Washington, NY – McLeod’s Daughters became an overnight sensation when it premiered on U.S. television (WE: Women’s Entertainment) several years ago – and remains enormously popular to this day. One of Australia’s most watched series, currently in production on its eighth, and final season, McLeod’s Daughters has captivated millions of viewers worldwide with its addictive storylines and heroic portrayals of empowered women. For the past several years, U.S. fans have been able to satisfy their McLeod’s “cravings” through full season DVD releases from KOCH Vision. This February, Season Five – never before seen in the U.S. – will finally be unveiled on DVD, as the rough n’ tumble rancher’s saga of Tess McLeod (Bridie Carter) continues. All 32 episodes arrive in McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON as an eagerly-awaited 8-DVD set for $79.98 SRP.

Shot entirely on location, McLeod’s Daughters began as an unforgettable journey for Claire (Lisa Chappell) and Tess – two half-sisters separated as children and reunited when they inherited Drovers Run, a large Australian cattle ranch passed down through their family for generations. Despite their differences, Claire, the independent country girl, and Tess, the vivacious city slicker, assembled an all-female workforce and faced the extraordinary challenges of the land with unwavering heart and humor. As the series progressed, new characters and adventures kept the show fresh and exciting, enticing new fans as well as old. Season Three, however, ended with Claire’s shocking death, and the introduction of a new primary character to the series, Stevie Hall (Simmone Jade Mackinnon). A rodeo competitor, Stevie’s athletic strength and emotional independence have made her an invaluable addition to Drovers Run.

The 32 episodes of McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON see the women of Drovers Run persevere despite increasingly difficult situations. After the birth of Nick’s child with his old flame, Sally, he and Tess strain to keep their marriage together. Meanwhile, the arrival of the mysterious Regan pits McLeod versus McLeod as the girls try to save Drovers Run from their cousin’s deceitful plans. Even greater shocks are in store as Jodi learns the truth about her father and Stevie reveals a secret of her own.

Created by Posie Graeme-Evans, McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON also stars Rachael Carpani, Aaron Jeffery, Myles Pollard, Brett Tucker, Michaela Banas and Jonny Pasvolsky.

Praising the series for taking its time to “let sexual tensions build and simmer,” The New York Times described McLeod’s Daughters as “Dallas down under, Bonanza with better hair or The Thorn Birds with the sheep but not the priest.” Entertainment Weekly recommended it as “what to watch” and The New York Post said “the show isn’t like anything else on TV. And really, how refreshing to have women’s programming that actually makes female characters smart, savvy, self-sufficient survivors, instead of Desperate Housewives.”

Since debuting on home video in October 2006, McLeod’s Daughters has continued to impress both fans and critics alike. DVD Talk reviewed the series as “entertaining with a big screen look…beautiful, stunning location shots and an attractive, energetic cast.” DVD Verdict said “it’s easy to see why McLeod’s Daughters became Australia’s most popular show.”
